I had a blast in Miami! Don and I brought trip tickets with Spirit Airlines. (Actually, Don was kind enough to buy them, and I paid for the hotel).
Spirit Airlines:
I will never use them again. Their prices are cheap but they are so annoying. They are so cheap that their pilots went on strike the day we were to depart back to NY & DC. There were people waiting for their flight from the day before! Drag me from hell if I have to do Spirit Airlines again!! Considering how cheap I am...it might be too soon. :(
Bentley Beach Hotel:
This place was great! We got a 1 bedroom suite. It had a beautiful marbled bathroom with a nice 2 person tub and even one of those European contraptions to wipe your bum. *laughs* It was great!
The hotel patio was nice for 2-4 people. The room was stocked up with drinks and treats for us to spend more money on. Access to the beach was right in the back of the hotel. They also had towels and beach chairs with umbrellas for the hotel guests.
Unfortunately, we did not research the area enough and the taxi drivers only took us to tourist traps. In the evening we spent a full hour trying to find just one decent lounge to get a drink. By the time we found one we were too tired to care and just walked by to the hotel. The heat in Miami was terrible! It hit 100 degrees while we were there...and the humidity was so high! However, we might have just been in a heatwave during our stay but still it was too much. The minute you walked one block it felt like you went 5 blocks!
I did enjoy my stay and hopefully, Don and I will go on another trip soon. I doubt it though. I might have to go to St. Maarten to see my grandmother and then to Aruba for my aunt's wedding.
